Software for 3D Vessel Analysis
 
A new software module provides radiologists with a vessel analysis system to effectively assess contrast-enhanced computed tomography angiography (CTA) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) studies for evaluating stenosis, stent and stent graft planning, and stent graft monitoring.

The 3D (three-dimensional) VesselMetrix module, developed by Barco (Kortrijk, Belgium), has just been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). “VesselMetrix was very well received by our customers and PACS [picture archiving and communications system] partners because of its ease-of-use and incredibly fast performance. It allows radiologists to set new standards in quality and efficiency when reading angiographic studies,” stated Craig Anderson, general manager of the Voxar product group.

“Our customers and PACS partners need 3D-enabled clinical software applications that are user-friendly and optimized to increase productivity. VeselMetrix delivers this for angiographic studies and is fundamental to our goal of providing radiologists with the tools they need to effectively read large volumetric data studies,” he added.
